WM places four on LSWA All-State team
* Lady Rebels begin district at home vs Ruston
West Monroe Rebel football placed four on the Louisiana Sportswriter’s Association Class 5A all-state football team recently.
On offense, quarterback Slade Bolden was named top athlete while offensive lineman Jacob Ingram was also selected.
The two young men will now be college stars as Bolden goes on to the University of Alabama (2018 National Champions) and Ingram has signed with the University of Central Arkansas.
The Rebel offense racked up over 2,000 yards rushing and more than 4,000 yards of total offense on its way to a semifinals berth in 2017.
On defense, linebacker John Bailey Gullatt and defensive lineman Dalvin Hutchinson were selected.
Gullatt again was a tackling machine and one of the most consistent contributors on defense for a fourth straight season.
Hutchinson fit right into the defensive scheme and made some big plays in his one season for the Rebels after transferring from Wossman High School.
