The West Monroe basketball program took a pair of losses at Natchitoches Central on Friday. The Lady Rebels fell 73-45 on Friday.
The Lady Chiefs jumped out to a 10-0 lead early before West Monroe got on a roll and cut the lead to 10-6.
It was as close as West Monroe would get as the Lady Chiefs rolled from their.
Faith Robinson led the Lady Rebels with 16 points while Dezarea Stewart added 13 points for West Monroe.
The game was the regular season finale for the girls team and they will now await the release of the playoff brackets next week.
On the boys side, West Monroe went basket for basket with the No. 1-ranked Chiefs in the first half before some big shots by star point guard Brian White carried NCHS to a 55-43 victory.
Chris Tyler led the Rebels with 14 points and was the only West Monroe player in double figures.
West Monroe struggled in the second half from the free throw line. After starting 5-of-5 from the line the Rebels were 7-of-12 at the line in the end.
“Natchitoches Central is one of the toughest places to come down and win,” West Monroe coach Kyle Hill said. “We did some things good. We did some things we have to work on. Brian White hit some big shots two or three times at end of quarters to stretch leads, but that is why he is a Division I (college) player.”
