West Monroe welcomes the surprising Alexandria Trojans to Don Shows Field at Rebel Stadium on Friday at 7 p.m.
ASH is 6-0 for the first time in nearly 20 years and ranked No. 2 in the unofficial Class 5A power rankings, right behind West Monroe.
The Rebels are also 6-0 and have beaten Neville, Ruston, the 4A state champs from Mississippi (Noxubee County) and 7A state runner-up from Alabama (McGill-Toolen) along the way.
The Rebel rushing attack has put up big numbers including over 300 yards on the ground last week in a 45-21 win at Ruston.
It will certainly be a contrast of styles as ASH brings a high-powered passing attack led by sophomore quarterback Judd Barton.
Barton has passed for over 1,000 yards and 13 touchdowns this season through five starts after taking over for injured quarterback Jadarius Clark.
West Monroe’s combination of quarterback Garrett Kahmann and running back Cameron Wright will look to control things with the run game and keep the Trojan offense off the field.
Wright is coming off a career night at Ruston with 240 yards rushing and 65-yards receiving along with 5 total touchdowns.
wmhs.tv will stream the game video while KLIP 105.3 FM will have the radio broadcast of the game.
