Lady Rebel softball hosts rivalry game vs. Ouachita
West Monroe and Ouachita is a big rivalry in any sport.
With the success on the field of the two softball programs’ it will certainly be excitement for the 5:30 p.m. first pitch on Thursday in West Monroe.
The Lady Rebels (6-6, 1-2) host the Lady Lions in a huge District 2-5A showdown that will go a long way in getting the teams right in the thick of the district title race.
“Both sides have had a lot of success,” West Monroe coach Amy Daigle said. “It doesn’t matter what sport it is a rivalry.”
Ouachita (13-3, 2-1) has had great success against the Lady Rebels as of late and to break that cycle Daigle said her team must come up with a complete game.
“We need to take advantage of opportunities offensively,” Daigle said. “More importantly for us is mentally stay in the game all seven innings.”
