West Monroe senior defensive tackle Dalvin Hutchinson made his commitment to the University of Louisiana at Lafayette official with an announcement through his Twitter account on Sunday.
Hutchinson begins his second seasons starting for the Rebels with high expectations and a leader for what is shaping up to be on paper one of the best defensive units the Rebels have had in quite some time.
Hutchinson said his senior year will be about being the best leader and teammate he can be and getting the Rebels back in an elite position.
“My goals are to get West Monroe back to the Dome,” Hutchinson said. “I want to be a better teammate and leader for my team – just work hard.”
UL-Lafayette got a commitment from the two-star recruit (Rivals.com) because of “how much love” they showed calling the senior almost every day since they offered according to Hutchinson.
“I feel like the attitude (of the new coaching staff) in the whole program, they have something good going on down there,” Hutchinson said. “I think I can add a great piece to what they are trying to accomplish.”
West Monroe will begin fall practice on Wednesday, August 1.
